First of all, I want to thank you all for all the love and incredible support I've been getting from all of you.
The adventure continues!!! I have been busy, busiest than any other time in my life, and it has been great!
AGT Live ran for three weeks in Foxwoods CT. We had audiences of around 1,000 people every night!
What a place! It was white with snow when I arrived, and very cold! The casino looks like Emerald City from afar. Imagine: In the middle of nowhere, there it is, the world's biggest casino. No, I don't gamble... well I admit I spent a little time in the slot machines, but what happened was this: I put $20.00, they went up and down. At one point I had close to $100.00 and instead of walking away, I got greedy and went down to my original $20.00
There are some pics of me playing with Kevin Skinner and Jerry Springer at the high-end black jack tables... VERY HIGH end. But wait! I was winning every hand, like never before. It was so much fun! Of course, when we finished, I "walked away" with a fortune... FAKE fortune
The whole experience was awesome! Every day, after the show we would go out to the lobby to meet and greet. Having the opportunity to interact with the people is an amazing thing. I just wish I could give more time to everyone, but I'm learning that it's just impossible. So please know that every time I sign an autograph, take a picture or even just shake a hand, I do it with all my heart and it means a lot to me. The compliments: Never too many, because each one counts. I know it comes from one person at a time... not a crowd, just one person. It does not matter how many times I've heard the "same thing" before, it's not the "thing", but the person... Thank you all so much!
While in Foxwoods, I went to NY twice during my "free" days: Mondays and Tuesdays. Kyle and Elizabeth joined me the second time! My friend Myrna watched Elizabeth while Kyle and I met with very important people, managers and agents. That was a busy time! And back to Foxwoods to perform. The following Monday, I flew to Louisville to perform at a corporate event (wonderful audience). I rehearsed and performed the same Monday, flew back on Tuesday and sang the show on Wednesday... Uff! I got tired just thinking about it. But wouldn't change it for anything else!
Well, after a wonderful life-time experience with AGT Live, first in Vegas, then in Foxwoods, I came back for only a few days before going to Guadalajara, Mexico where I performed two wonderful concerts with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Jalisco! Here's what happened: Flew in on the 13th, had rehearsals on the 15th and 16th. Flew back to Houston on the 17th to rehearse with Richard Kaufman, conductor of the orchestra that accompanied me during an incredible event on the 18th for the MD Anderson Cancer Center. Then, on the 19th, Kyle and I flew back to Guadalajara and I sang the concert that nigh! LOL! I know it sounds crazy, but while I'm writing this, I'm just cracking up! Saturday the 20th was "free" (yeah right). Remember, I still have all my family and friends there and one of my cousins had her first communion that day, so I sang the mass and went to the party afterwards. Good thing that some of my friends were there too and I got to see them. Well, It was also very crazy because I hadn't been there for more than a year and wanted to see everyone!!! (unrealistic and impossible).
On Sunday, I sang the second concert. Something wonderful happened: The theater was completely full both nights! Absolutely SOLD OUT! That hadn't happened in many years... Now I'm crying with joy... I'm a mess!
Well, I've been at home since the 23rd, and I'm enjoying my daughter as much as I can, taking care of some home stuff, you know, after six months of hardly being here, mommy has a lot to do in the house!
Get ready, though! We are very serious about the CD! I have a very good manager that knows what he's doing and we are now working on putting together the recording and the tour that goes with it! OMG! The logistics!, the bigger the project, the more complicated they are... and we want it to be GOOD! With God's help, it will happen!
There's going to be an EP with the live performances in Guadalajara. That's coming out within the next few weeks!
Stay tuned!
Please keep me in your prayers, I'll keep you in mine!
God bless you all and your families!
Love,
Barbara
