A hauntingly beautiful song

This is the song I re-discovered recently. I believe I heard it once many many years ago on the radio, but I am not sure. I stumbled on it recently and cannot seem to get enough of. Not sure if Barbara has considered singing it, I hope so.

This song is by a Brazilian composer Villa Lobos and is called "Melodia Sentimental". I googled for it a bit, and it seems a part of a song cycle about the the Brazilian rain forest and the Amazon. I don't know the words.
